Yeah i bought this car and a 87 turbo 5spd off a kid who was installing a 2jz into this near mint 1990 Turbo Targa 5spd with only 107K miles.
The car was completly striped inside, every bolt, nuts screw, hell even the rear seat and targa brackets that were spot welded to the body.
He had broke off the key in the ignition and instead of installing a new ignition he cut up the MAIN HARNESS and made it so that just by flicking a series of switches
the car would come to life.. I was forced to find a new harness for the car, rather than try to salvage the hornets nest of wires where the dash used to be.
The problem with this is that my car was not only equiped with ABS but also a factory Airbag... and well having only 2,381 turbo supras in the US in 1990. and I had
to find on that was being parted out. Luckily i am friends with a supra god and he had a 1991 auto main/ engine harness i could swap in. even with all this i had to find
misc. parts and computers and he had cut the harness that controlled the rear wing brake light and defroser. so i had to track down the wire and hard wire them myself.
Then while all this was going on, i was rebuilding the motor, and swapping the entire grey leather interior from my wrecked 86.5 to this car. after about a month of
constant work i finally got her up and running, not quite 100% but she was running. But not for long.
